Atlas Copco – Associated Machinery Corporation Limited

Atlas Copco

Atlas Copco is an industrial and investment company that manufactures vacuum equipment, compressors, pumps, power tools and assembly systems.

Atlas Copco centrifugal turbochargers use single shaft technology, which is capable of withstanding pressures up to 200 bar and has volume flows up to 480,000 m3/h.

Industries using centrifugal turbochargers

Centrifugal turbochargers are widely used in such divisions as: oil and gas, power, industrial gases, as well as in the production of fertilizers and the fields of processing, storage and transportation of oil.

GT Series Centrifugal Compressor

The GT series centrifugal compressor is used to supply air and process gas.

Atlas Copco's GT series centrifugal compressors feature an integrated gearbox, innovative drive and impeller design for air and process gas at pressures up to 200 bar.

Advantages of GT Series Centrifugal Compressor

  • The compressor has an integrated gearbox. This design represents the industry's most compact gear design and ensures trouble-free multi-speed operation. As a result, each compression stage operates at optimum speed.
  • Advanced gearbox design. By applying multi-stage compression with up to eight stages on a single gearbox, GT series compressors can adapt to combined processes in one cycle.

API compliance. The GT series perfectly complies with the strict API standards, namely API 617 chapter 3 (gas); oil systems - API 614.

Technical Features of GT Series Centrifugal Compressor

The GT series centrifugal air and gas compressors are used extensively around the world, from air separation plants to complex oil and gas installations. The compressors of the GT series are designed in a compact package with minimal installation time. The compressors can handle volume flows of up to 480,000 m3/h and pressures of up to 200 bar. They have up to eight compression stages with drive power up to 37 MW. GT series centrifugal compressors, driven by integral gears, increase productivity with an efficient mechanical drive structure. And additional designs such as the inlet guide vane (IGV) and downstream guide vane (DGV) provide the ability to provide additional process control and high power under conditions such as changes in outlet pressure or changes in volumetric flow. GT series centrifugal compressors are fully API compliant, built for long life and supported by a global after-sales service network.

T Series Centrifugal Compressor for Process Plants

T series centrifugal compressors are used in production in complex chemical and petrochemical plants. The T series direct driven centrifugal gas compressors are widely used in the processing of polyolefins, including polypropylene and polyethylene. They comply with API 614 and API 617 standards and are designed for process outlet pressures of 40 bar and flow rates up to 80,000 m3/h (47,086 cfm).

Characteristics of T series centrifugal compressor:

  • Delivery of equipment of a special configuration. It is also possible to combine with inhibitor (killgas) injection turbines for safe shutdown.
  • Leak-free design. Dry gas seals can be used in a dual configuration.
  • Maximum efficiency. Direct driven T-series compressors can be used as circulating gas compressor and main circuit compressor.
  • Complete process control with variable inlet guide vanes (IGV). They provide optimal flow rates, especially in changing operating conditions where quick adjustments are required.
  • Robust component designs. The most significant compressor components such as: impeller, housing, guide vanes, shaft seals, gears and bearings are of the highest quality workmanship and reliable design.

Specifications of T series centrifugal compressor:

The T series centrifugal compressors handle reactor pressures up to 40 bar and flow rates up to 80,000 m3/h. This is possible due to the following characteristics:

  • adjustable inlet guide vanes (IGV);
  • high efficiency closed impellers;
  • high speed axial bearings.

T-series compressors are equipped with upgraded dry gas seals as an alternative to oil lubricated systems. They comply with API 617 and API 614 standards.

RT Series Single Shaft Centrifugal Compressor

The RT series centrifugal compressor is designed for the latest generation of large air separation units (ASU). The RT series single-shaft three-stage centrifugal compressor supplied by our company provides a new and perfect level of power, efficiency and productivity.

Features of RT Series Single Shaft Centrifugal Compressor

Possibility of large-scale air separation. Compressors supplied by our company provide an opportunity to reduce maintenance and operation costs. Intercoolers. Coolers are an important part of the main air compression system. Therefore, intercoolers use a water-in-tube/air-in-shell design with a built-in water demister. The RT series main air compressor features three-stage single shaft centrifugal design. It provides high efficiency. Modern technologies in the field of power transmission.

Specifications of RT series centrifugal compressor:

The RT series single-shaft three-stage centrifugal compressor produced by our company combines the high efficiency of stage and impeller design. It complies with API 617 and 614 standards. RT series compressors are designed for all applications in main air separation. The RT series compressors help you reduce your operating costs while maximizing reliability and minimizing service downtime.

Compressor with integrated gear and radial inflow turbine

This type of compressor has a compact design.

The characteristics of a compressor with an integrated gear and a radial inflow turbine include:

  • Combination of integrated gear compressors and radial inflow expanders for an efficient process solution.
  • Compliance with API standards.
  • Compact, efficient and reliable. Compander (TM) satisfies the key needs of many modern industrial processes where efficiency, compactness and fast installation are key factors in equipment purchasing decisions.

Compressor specifications:

The compressor operates with a rated power of up to 30 MW, which meets key needs in many industrial processes where energy efficiency is an important focus. Compander (TM) combines experience and expertise in integrated gears and turboexpanders. It is significant in that the compressor and expander stages are based on one gearbox. The energy received on the side of the turboexpander should be used to power the compressor power cycle, which reduces the power consumption of the compressor (rotor drive). Nitrogen and methane companders have found applications in LNG and chemical plants, including:

  • Nitric acid;
  • caprolactam;
  • phenol;
  • boil-off gas reliquefaction;
  • nitrous oxide.

AMCOR offers audit and performance analysis services for existing equipment to modernize production facilities, as well as the supply and maintenance of Atlas Copco equipment.
